                     Declaration of Plan to Extend Lease, Rental, and Maintenance Services for

                     Overview
 
                     IBM is extending its lease, rental, and maintenance services for selected
                     IBM printers originally announced as being terminated in Withdrawal
                     Announcement 900-315 , dated December 19, 2000. At this time, we are
                     providing notice that lease, rental, and maintenance services for selected
                     machine types and models will be extended until December 31, 2002. Refer
                     to the Affected Machine Types and Models for a complete list of the
                     machine types and models.

                     Affected Machine Types and Models

                     Effective December 31, 2002, IBM will withdraw the following IBM machines
                     from its lease, rental, and maintenance agreements:

                     commercial and government customers and Business Partners in more than 40
                     countries around the world. IBM Global Financing is provided by the IBM
